Delman "Moe" Eugene Hawks

Mr. Delman Eugene “Moe” Hawks, age 77 of Ararat, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning November 7, 2024, from injuries due to an automobile accident. He was born August 10, 1947, in Patrick County to the late Delbert Francis “Duck” Hawks and Iva Gertrude Stanley Hawks Smith. Delman “Moe” worked at North Carolina Foam Industries as a chemical blender. Mr. Hawks is survived by his son, Brandon Hawks and girlfriend Kayla Hawks; ex-wife of 28 years and Brandon’s mother, Sandra Hawks Thompson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlan and Jane Hawks, and Garrison and Janet Hawks; special friend, Carolyn Nester and her daughter, Misty Horton and her son, Chase Cain; several nieces and nephews; and by all his work friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by a special little friend, Devon Jessup. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday afternoon November 10, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ricky Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday at Moody Funeral Home from 12:30pm until 2:00pm. A private burial will take place after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Brandon Hawks, 415 Willis Gap Road, Ararat, VA 24053. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
