Delmer Dee Doerner
Mr. Delmer Dee “Pa Del” Doerner III, age 65, of Jonesville, passed away after a long illness on September 23, 2024, at his residence with the love of his life, his wife Evelyn by his side. Mr. Doerner was born August 29, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Delmer D. Doerner II and Nan Doerner. He later moved to North Carolina with his family when he was 16 years old. Mr. Doerner III is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Bondurant Doerner of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Keaton L. Doerner and Chelsea; 3 beautiful granddaughters that he loved with all his heart, Lila, Dahlia, Zelphia, all of King, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Deanna Sellars and Jared of Canada; 2 half-brothers, Chris and Derek; half-sister, Dawn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa Bondurant and John D. , both of Ararat, Virginia. Del loved his country and flag, which he joined the Army in 1979, he was later honorably discharged in 1985. He was a great mechanic, roofer, and tree man, never was there a job he couldn’t do. The job which he loved the most was with Asplundh Tree Service, in which he retired from in 2018 after 24 years of loyal service. Everyone that knew him would say “Del would give you the shirt off his back”, if you needed it. Del was always willing to help someone, regardless of the circumstance. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for all their tender loving care and support they provided during Del’s sickness.
