Dennis Lee Gripp
Dennis Lee Gripp, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2025. Born on January 20, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas, Dennis was the beloved son of the late Francis Marion Gripp and Veone Evelyn Gripp.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Gripp; his son, Adam Gripp of Roeland Park, Kansas; his stepdaughters, Tracy Peters and Melissa Lang, both of Madison Heights, Virginia; and his beloved grandchildren: Lauren (Carter), Brennan, Grayson, Easton, and Kennedy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Dennis is also survived by his sisters, Linda Hohman of Edwardsville, Kansas, and Carol Allred (Hal) of Weatherby Lake, Missouri.
Dennis graduated from Pittsburg State University and proudly served as a veteran of the Kansas Army National Guard. He began his career in the printing management field in Lawrence, Kansas, before moving to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he worked for Meredith-Burda and later RR Donnelley.
Dennis will be remembered for his warm heart, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. He had a lifelong passion for cars and motorcycles and was a proud member of the VA Corvette Club and the Lynchburg Harley Club. He was also an active Shriner and a dedicated Mason, committed to fellowship, service, and supporting his community. A true sports fan, Dennis loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
A service to honor Dennis's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights, Virginia.
