Dennis "Wayne" Richmond, Sr.
"The Man, The Myth, The Legend"
Mr. Dennis Wayne Richmond, Sr., age 70, of Clifton Forge, died Friday, October 17, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Sharon Elaine McCarty Richmond to whom he was married to for almost fifty years.
Mr. Richmond was born July 28, 1955 in Covington, the son of the late Mason Edward Richmond and Mary Downey Richmond. He worked for years at the old ice plant in Clifton Forge. He was an "Everyday Man." A man who always doing something whether it was trading, junking, roofing, hauling or cutting firewood. He loved working for himself and was a "Jack of All Trades." In his spare time, Mr. Richmond loved spending time with friends and family reminiscing over all his past adventures. He was a Ford man who loved John Wayne movies, playing pool or a good game of horseshoes. Wayne was a Dr. Pepper man. He was considered a one-ton man and the last of a dying breed. Wayne was a wheeler and dealer and well known throughout the scraping community. He believed a handshake sealed the deal and you always stood by your word. He didn't say much and didn't have to but when he spoke you listened. If you knew Wayne, you can hear him say, "Hey tweet lips", "Honey Bunch" or "Babe." He loved his grandkids with all his heart.
