Dennis Roy Staton

Dennis Roy Staton, 74, of Troutville, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024. Dennis was a lifetime trucker and loved riding horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Roy and Etta Belle Anderson Staton and step-father, Herbert Staton; sisters, Annie Umberger and Phyllis Switzer, brother, Charlie Staton, and brother-in-law, Eddie McKinney. Survivors include his wife, Diana McKinney Staton; daughters, Stacey (Steve) Stewart of Buchanan, Amy (Andy) Self of Wirtz; step-daughter, Monty (Chris) Gibbs of Ormond Beach, Fla; sisters, Betty (Greg) Hunt and Frances (Louis) Mundy; sister-in-law, Debra McKinney; brother-in-law, Roger (Linda) McKinney; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Jennings Creek Gospel Church, 5486 Jennings Creek Road, Buchanan, VA 24066 with Pastors Eugene Mills and Darren Meadows officiating.
