Dennis Wayne Beard

Dennis Wayne Beard, 73, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. Dennis was born in Danville, VA on July 17, 1951 to the late Phebe Pace Law and the late Samuel Beard. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Anita Woods Beard.

Dennis was of the Christian Faith. He proudly served his country for 22 years as a Air Traffic Controller in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, he worked for over 20 years as the Manager at Auto Zone in Danville, VA previous to his retirement. Dennis loved fishing and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by three daughters; Kira Huyghue and husband LeRoy of Crestview, FL, Schiniqua Lea and husband Artie of Danville, VA, and Shandra Beard of Fort Walton Beach, FL; son; Dennis Mann and wife Melicia of Ft. Myers, FL; a sister; Pamela Hairston of Danville, VA; a brother; Charlie Beard and wife Dorothy of Silver Springs, MD; his special military friend; Russell Wright of Chesapeake, VA; his special lifelong friend; Calvin Pina of Florida; as well as many numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and multitude of loving friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11:00am at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 10-11:00am, also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel. An interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
