Deshawn M. Ross

Deshawn Marquis Ross, 22, of Bassett, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was born on July 27, 2000, to Derick Monroe (Latoya). and Starla Galloway Ross (Tye). He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cynthia Pinkard, and a great-grandmother, Florence Lane.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding four wheelers and being a little country boy. He will be remembered mostly for being a great father, son, and brother.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, Terria Jones-Ross; daughters, Honesty Finney and Hazelraine Ross; son, Deshawn M. Ross, Jr.; sisters, Alexis Ross, Mercedes Ross, and Aniyah Ross; brothers, Devontay Ross, Braden Foley, Demarea Ross, Derrick M. Ross, Jr.; grandmothers, Sandy Galloway and Latisha Ross (Jerry); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

A floating visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Lewis Waller, officiating. The burial will follow at the Ross Family Cemetery.
