Devika Rani Mary Kancherla

Devika Rani Mary Kancherla, 74, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023. She was born June 6, 1949, in Vuyyuru, India, to the late Meshek John Tella and Santhoshamma Nandika. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Prema Kumari Nandika.Devika Rani attended Community Fellowship, she loved to spend her time reading the Bible and praying. She also loved cooking, gardening, long drives, and spending time with her beloved family. She was very kind to the poor, her Sunday school children, and she was very active in her church in India.She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Hardy Moody Kancherla; daughters, Rushi Shakeena Kancherla, Johanah Hardy Kancherla, and Beauna Alan; five sisters; one brother; sons-in-law, Kathi Moses Prabhakar and Alan Christopher Murathaty; and grandchildren, Kathi Joe Daniel and Samuel Alan Murathaty.The funeral will be Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
