Devon Alan Staley

Devon Alan Staley, age 33, died near his home in Forest, Virginia on Wednesday, September 11th after a fall resulting from a seizure.Born in Simpsonville, South Carolina, Devon enjoyed a stellar academic career, earning both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His work, as well as an extremely strong sense of wanderlust, afforded him the opportunity to visit dozens of countries throughout Europe and Asia. He was an avid hiker, an accomplished chef, and a voracious reader of science and natural history; he loved playing his guitar and never missed an opportunity to watch his beloved Green Bay Packers.Devon is survived by his parents, Frank Dewey Staley and Wendi (Wright) Staley, by his grandparents, Dennis and Doris Wright, by three sisters and by many adoring cousins.The family has elected to hold a private ceremony, the date of which is to be determined.
