Diana Lynn Chaff

October 4, 1948 - March 4, 2025

Diana Lynn Chaff, 76, formerly of Pittsylvania County, VA died March 4, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born October 4, 1948, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John B. Chaff and the late

Betty Silvasey Chaff. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, the late, John D. Chaff.

She is survived by her two sons, Brad Nesselroade and partner, Katherine of Lynchburg, VA.; and Chris Nesselroade and wife, Tonya of Hampstead, NC.; one Niece, Mandi Mohler and husband, Casey of Liberty Center, Ohio; three grandchildren, Sierra Grace, Samantha Nesselroade and Kaley Nesselroade; Grandnieces/nephews, Kate, Thomas, Elle and Brooklyn Mohler and three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Zuri and Nakoa.

After graduating from Randolph High School, Diana studied English Education at Kent State University and graduated from Averett University with an English degree. She spent 36 years teaching English to numerous students at Chatham and West Brunswick High Schools and was recognized twice as “Teacher of the Year” before retiring. Diana’s love language was cooking and she joyously shared it with friends and family in addition to serving seniors through Weekend Meals on Wheels in Wilmington, NC. She was also an accomplished pianist and loved playing the piano for her church. Diana loved sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes

but most importantly loved being on the sidelines of her sons and grandchildren’s sporting events through the years. Diana loved the mountains and the beach where many family memories were made.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Norris Funeral Services – West End Chapel, 511 Church Avenue, Danville, VA. The family will accept friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
