Diane (Jones) Bowman

Mrs. Diane Jones Bowman, age 73 of Mount Airy, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bowman was born on July 5, 1952, in Surry County to the late Sammy Lester and Betty Louise Atkinson Jones. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of White Plain Baptist Church and where she spent many years teaching in their school. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Mrs. Bowman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kayla Bowman Tucker and Wesley; son and daughter-in-law, Robbie Bowman and Kim; three grandchildren, Jacob Bowman and Erin, Madison Bowman, McKenzie Tucker; a great granddaughter on the way, Hallie Bowman; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin Jones Horton and David; brother and sister-in-law, Sammy Lester Jones, Jr. and Gaye; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Bowman, Jr; and a brother, Danny Keith Jones. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church with Reverend David Tucker and Reverend David Horton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2026, at White Plains Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to White Plains Christian School, 609 Old Hwy 601, Mount Airy, North Carolina, 27030.
