Dollie Pearl French Monroe

March 2, 1944 - March 16, 2025

DOLLIE FRENCH MONROE, 81, of Bland, VA, went home to be with the Lord she so faithfully served on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born March 2, 1944 in Bluefield, WV, the daughter of the late Robert & Goldie French. 

Dollie was a fierce servant of the Lord. She attended church at Wesendonck Church.  She and her husband ministered for the Lord for many years. She was a youth leader and Sunday School teacher, she played piano and enjoyed singing. 

She had a strong will and drive to beat M.S. She used her diagnosis and her cane as a witness for the Lord. 

Dollie was a good cook and expected dessert with meals.  She loved her family and loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. 

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fairfax & Goldie Geneva Beamer French, and her loving husband of 52 years, Wayne Thomas Monroe.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters & sons-in-law, Dawn & Mike Davis, Dena Monroe and Debra & Warnie Day; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Pete Day and Jeneva Day; her brother & sister-in-law,  Robert & Mary Ann French; lifelong friend, Eleanor Wyrick; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Per Dollie’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M.  at Wesendonck Church with Pastor Brian Consley and Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.

Dollie will be privately laid to rest at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.
