Donald Daniel Bucklen

Donald Daniel Bucklen, age 81 of Giles County died on October 9, 2025. He was born in Richlands, Virginia at Mattie Williams Hospital on June 1, 1944. He was the son of the late Ervin and Lula Bucklen

Donald served in the United States Air Force and worked several jobs in Richlands including Shrader’s, a Maytag retailer; the casket factory in the Brickyard; and a projectionist at Flannery Theatre. He loved to visit and socialize with family and friends and was a generous man who helped anyone in need. He had a huge appreciation for music of all genres and loved to watch movies, especially classics of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He moved to Giles County in 2021 to be close to his son.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, George Bucklen, and Roscoe Bucklen; and his sisters, Lorrene Bucklen and Lena Harrison.

Survivors are his children, Jeff Bucklen (Karen), Sherry Mantiply (Tommy), and Heather Sanchez (Link); his grandchildren, Samantha Taborga, Timothy Munsey, Madison Munsey, Allison Bucklen, and Nolan Bucklen; and his great-grandchildren, Penny Lane Munsey, and Lillabeth Mckenzie.

A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, Virginia on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Jeff Bucklen officiating.
