Donald "Don" E. Davis

Donald E. Davis. 82, beloved husband of Daphine M. Davis, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was the son of the late Marshall and Ruby McClanahan Davis. Don was also preceded in death by a brother, Edsel Davis.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the 101st Airborne Division. Following his military service he worked for General Electric for more than 30 years until his retirement.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Daphine M. Davis, Don will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Melissa Conner and her husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Bradley Conner and his wife Patti Ann, Melinda Facemire and her husband Nathan; great-grandchildren, Liam Conner, Owen Conner, Josie Mae Facemire, Cole Facemire, and Case Facemire; sisters, Ilene Lee, Mary Afton, and Charlotte Justus; brother, Randy Davis; niece, Nancy Miller; nephew, Nicholas Justus.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Conner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
