Donald E. Bryan
Donald E. Bryan passed away September 14, 2022 at his home in Botetourt County, Virginia. Don, born September 9, 1934 was the son of the late Emery C. Bryan MD and Pearl Sell Bryan. Don grew up in Erie, Kansas.
Don served in the Army Medical Corps during the American Occupation of Germany.
Following his military service he married Kathlee Triplett in 1957.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years and their children Stuart, Kirk and Lisa Bryan; grandsons Tyler and Robert Buchanan; and great grandsons Aiden, Axl, and Jaxton Buchanan; his sister, Barbara Heilman and her family. His brother, Larry, preceded him in death.
Don’s profession was that of Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist in diagnostic and residential treatment centers, as well as Supervising Psychologist for the Four Rivers Special Education District in Illinois.
Because of his interest in historical firearms, he established a part-time business dealing in firearms until his retirement from his psychology practice. At this time it became a full-time occupation, with a specialization in collectors firearms from all eras of American history as his interests evolved.
Don was a Life Benefactor member of the NRA, and held memberships in the American Society of Arms Collectors and other collector organizations.
His love of firearms was only exceeded by his love of his wife and children.
Graveside services were held at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens on September 19, 2022.
