Donald Weeks

Donald Clifton Weeks, 85, of Hardy, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered into his heavenly home on January 30, 2025. He was the son of the late James A. Weeks and Katie C. Bishop, brother to the late Francis Weeks Parker, the late Betty Weeks Ferguson, and Richard M. Weeks and sister in law, Patricia K. Weeks. He was the husband to the late Mary Jeannette Weeks. Don was a devoted father to his four children, Brian Lee Weeks and wife Laurie of Bedford, Virginia, Pamela Sue Massey and husband Bret of Bradenton, Florida, Kevin Ray Weeks and wife Dana of Hardy, Virginia, and Sonya Faye Gillenwater and husband Jason of Hardy, Virginia; Grandfather to Jordan Weeks, Lydia Loy, Abigail Massey, Afton Weeks and Olivia Haley, two great-grandchildren, and extended “grandchildren in love”. Don served in the Marine Corps from 1956-1959, with three additional years in the Reserves. He was a Chaplain and a life member of the Stewartsville/Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, bee- keeping, baking and most importantly serving the Lord in his church, Franklin Memorial Baptist where he attended. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 4th, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 305 East Washington Ave., Vinton, VA 24179.A service celebrating Don’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Pastor Jeff Richards and Pastor Bret Massey officiating.Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1401 Mountain View Road, Vinton, VA 24179.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Stewartsville/Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department.
