Donna Burks Kesterson

September 20, 1968 - February 24, 2025

Donna Burks Kesterson, 56, of Madison Heights, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments.

Born in Lynchburg on September 20, 1968, Donna was the daughter of the late Frank and Lois Burks. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Donna is survived by her husband of 36 years, Warren Anthony Kesterson; three children, Heather Burks, Jeffrey Kesterson (Cheena “Georgia”), and Amber Kesterson; and four grandchildren, Landon Kesterson, Chayleigh “Chay-Chay” Kesterson, Braylen, Bentlee, and many others who were touched by her love. She also leaves behind her sister, Diane Burks (Jay King); two brothers, Robert “Willie” Burks (Angie) and David Burks (Karen); her brother-in-law, Timmy Kesterson (Debbie Maddox); her uncle, Jimmy Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her faithfull companion Bella.

Donna had a great passion for life, with her family being her greatest joy. She loved to shop, especially at Hobby Lobby, where she would find treasures to decorate her home for every holiday. Her love for flowers and working in her garden brought her peace and happiness. Donna had a remarkable talent for creating beauty in all she touched, and her sense of joy was contagious. The beach was her favorite destination, and she cherished the vacations spent with her family.

Her family was her world, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Donna’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Jacob Uthup officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
