Donnie Earl Albert

DONNIE EARL ALBERT, 73, of Poplar Hill, VA, went to be with the Lord he faithfully served on Monday, July 8, 2024. He was born April 22, 1951 in Bland, VA, the son of the late Darl & Marie Albert.

Donnie was an accommodating person that would be where he was needed. He was a hard worker and was a licensed welder. He retired after many years with Volvo. 

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a jokester and liked to pick on those he loved. 

Donnie was a longtime member of the Poplar Hill Fire Department. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darl Raburn & Macil Marie Orey Albert, his wife, Sharon Rose Morris Albert, a special uncle, D.R. Orey and a special nephew, Michael Albert.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Pete Woods; his son, Dennis Albert; his grandchildren, Brandon Woods, Carleigh Woods and Landon Woods; a special great-grandbaby who is on the way; his twin brother & sister-in-law, Ronnie & Pauline Albert; his aunt & uncle, Juanita & Bobby Brandau and several nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Charles Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Staffordsville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until service time, 4:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Donnie’s honor to the Poplar Hill Fire Department, c/o Mike Talbert, 725 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134.
