Dora Kay McDonald

Dora “Kay” McDonald, 63, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born December 30, 1960, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Eddie Lee Owens and Ethel Horsley Atkins.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Powell; and her second husband, Mickey McDonald; and brothers, Elbert Carson Lowery, and Everette Howard Lowery.Dora was of the Cristian faith. She loved anything and everything to do with her grandchildren, coloring, watching Law and Order, playing bingo, and listening to gospel music. She was a very loyal friend to many. She valued friendship and family above all.She is survived by daughters, Melissa Kay Hubbard (Woody), and April Leanna Grogan (Robert); son, Thomas Jacob Powell; sister, Phyllis Mendoza; brothers, Bucky Owens, and Thomas Jeff Owens (Tammy); and grandchildren, Joshua Ray Hubbard, Robert Michael Grogan, Jr., Nevaeh Nicole Grogan, Logan Osborne, and William A.
