Doris Etta Haynes

Mrs. Doris Etta Hiatt Haynes, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on May 15, 1941, to the late Ernest and Florence Fleming Hiatt. Mrs. Haynes retired from Pine State Knitwear after many years of employment. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Felts and Tim Combs, Pamela and Kevin Rorrer; grandchildren, Kari Powell, Jaret and Haley Rorrer, Levi Rorrer; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Luster Bowman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Hiatt, Leonard and Jenny Hiatt, Phyllis Hiatt; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Samuel Haynes; brothers, Edward Hiatt, and Randolph Hiatt; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hiatt. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with the Rev. Kelly Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
