Doris Robinson Stein

Mrs. Doris Robinson Stein, age 97, of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital Skilled Care Unit, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Stein was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 20, 1927, to the late Johnnie Staley Robinson and Amy Kirby Robinson. She was a loving wife, sister, and aunt to the many that were blessed to have known her. She was a lifelong member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, she volunteered with the clothes closet, was well-known for visiting the sick and elderly, and just truly loved people. Mrs. Stein was also a lifetime member of VFW ladies auxiliary Post#9436. Surviving Mrs. Stein is her niece and her husband, Linda Caudell and Roger; nephews and their wives and child, Dennis Lawson and Cathy, Chelsea, Doug Lawson and Debra, Jeff Lawson, Grayson Robinson and Tommie; great niece and her husband and child, Amanda Wall and Mark, Kaitlyn; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Harold Albert Stein; sister, Daisy Robinson Lawson; brothers, Dean Robinson, Dan Robinson and Don Robinson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church at 11 AM with the Rev. Kevin Minix and Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. A burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Stein requested donations be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Stein family.
