Dorothy Ann Galyean

Dorothy Ann Vickers Galyean, age 89, passed away March 11, 2026 in Stella, NC. She was born in West Virginia to Steve and Viola Vickers. She was married to Andrew Galyean (deceased 2016) for 60+ years. They raised their children in Ridgeway, VA and then relocated to Henry, VA. She was the proud mother of four: Cathy Sutphin, Janice Galyean, Andy (Robin) and Rob.Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. Grandchildren: Tina (Thomas) Woodford, Matt Coggins, Scott Hylton (deceased), Kim Williams (deceased) Jaime (Julian) Little, Bill Galyean, Kaylee Johnson, Tori Galyean, Jordan Galyean; great grandchildren: Adalie Woodford, Serenity (Noah) Holloway, Taylor Galyean, Brooklyn Galyean, Cameron (Kelly) Williams, Zachary Williams, Joshua Little, Jacob Little and Jasmyn Little.She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Workman and Helen Swims, her brothers, Frank Vickers, Sam Vickers and Mike Vickers. She has nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.She was a housekeeper at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County for 35 years. She was a dedicated employee who knew the importance of her work to the care of patients and enjoyed her work and her co-workers.Most importantly, she was a believer in the Lord Jesus who believed the Bible and read it daily.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Henry Memorial Park.
