Dorothy Black

Dorothy Doyle Black, age 95, of Leaf Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia died Sunday, August 3, 2025 at her son’s residence.
She was born June 24, 1930 in Highland County, Virginia to the late John Doyle and Nora Griffin Doyle. She was a nurse’s aid at Bath Community Hospital for over 45 years and a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Black in 2007; four brothers, Dick, Charles, Glen and Vanden.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Kay Black and friend, Gary Jones; a son, Charles Thomas Black and wife Lynn Ellen; two grandchildren, Kathie Sidner and Tiffany Williford and husband Kyle; four great grandchildren, Avery, Carson, Will and Raelyn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, Millboro with Pastor Richard Goforth officiating. Pallbearers will be Joey Altizer, Jeff Grimm, Jay Bryan, Robert Plecker, Gary Jones and Charles Black. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation.
