Dorothy Helen Strattis
Dorothy Helen Strattis passed away on January 12, 2025 in Sevierville, Tennessee. Born January 22, 1928 in Red Jacket, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Meph and Connie Lindsey.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Earnest Strattis; and her son, Randy Strattis.
Professionally Dorothy was a proud teacher in schools from West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. She would retire with honor from education in Virginia where she taught first grade for over 22 years at Macy McClaugherty Elementary/Middle School.
Dorothy exercised her faith as a member of the Sevierville Church of Christ. Dorothy too, had many hobbies that filled her heart. She was a collector of many dolls. She had a great talent with the needle and embroidered many beautiful cushions and pictures, knitted throws, and sewed her own clothes. An adventurer, she loved to travel and was thrilled to have visited over 37 countries. Dorothy will be missed by her many friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tennessee on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Following this service, Dorothy will be transported to Virginia where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Philip in their private mausoleum. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Virginia. The Ronald Dean Quesenberry family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
