Dorothy M. Turner

Dorothy M. Turner 73, of Collinsville, Virginia transitioned to her Heavenly home on Wednesday morning October 19th 2022 at Sovah Health Martinsville. Born on November 27th 1948, in Martinsville, Virginia she was the daughter of the late George Lewis Turner and Maxine Ross Turner.
In addition to her father and mother “Dot” was preceded in death by her beloved brothers James Thomas Turner and Lynwood Alvin Turner.
She was retired from the Hairston Home for Adults after many years as a Registered Medication Aide and Nursing Assistant. “GiGi” as she was affectionately called enjoyed talking on the phone with her great-grandchildren, reading her Bible, watching her many television shows, and cooking for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters Vickie T. Morris, Shelita S. Turner both of Martinsville, Virginia, Tonya L. Turner and one son Lee A. Hayes (Pearl) both of New Haven, Connecticut.
She has eleven grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren whom she absolutely adored.
Also left to cherish her memories is one brother George E. Turner, four sisters; Sharon D. Turner, Mays L. Turner, Barbara D. Turner and Ruth T. Carter all of Martinsville, Virginia. She also has an uncle, an aunt and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
This is not goodbye, and we certainly have not lost “Dot/GiGi” to death because we know, understand, and truly believe that she is now in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Per her wishes all services will be private.
