Dorothy Pearl Smith

Dorothy Pearl Smith, age 98 of Wirtz, VA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Fork Mountain Rest Home. 
 
Mrs. Smith was born July 22, 1924 to the late Charles and Goldie McBride.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Ambrose Smith; son, Watson Arthur Smith; son-in-law, Jim Hale; brother-in-law, Raymond Maxey; sister, Ruby McBride (Wade), Leatrice Barbour (Melvin), brother, Allen McBride (Lilly Mae); and grandson, Charles Arthur Smith.  She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Smith (Susie), Jerry Smith, Jody “Duck” Smith, Sr. (Margaret), Ricky Smith (Pansy); daughter, Jeanette Hale, (Bill); sister, Elizabeth Maxey, sister-in-law, Doris Smith; eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2022 with Pastor Denver Turner officiating.  Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service.
