Douglas "Doug" Wright

Douglas “Doug” Wright, 65, passed away on December 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 16, 1960, in Pulaski, Va., Doug brought joy, humor and music to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Clark; his sister, Dianne Wright Burris and her children, Jonathan and Kathleen Burris Fowlkes, along with heir families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria C. and Henry R. Wright; his brother, David L. Wright; and his brother-in-law, George Lynn Burris.

Doug had a deep love for music, especially his guitar and banjo, and there was no sound sweeter to him than a Lynyrd Skynyrd record spinning on a quiet afternoon. He was an avid reader of National Geographic; loved fiddler conventions and a chance to show off his legendary flat-foot dancing skills.

He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.
