Douglas “Dude” Reid Easter

Douglas “Dude” Reid Easter, 79, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home. He was born February 17, 1944, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Sherman Easter and Sarah Crowder Easter.

Douglas worked for Fieldcrest Mills for over twenty years and was a self-employed painter for twenty years. He enjoyed cutting wood, mowing, hunting, working on lawn mowers. He loved picking chinkapins and blueberries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Easter; and brothers, Wayne Easter and Ronald Easter.

He is survived by his wife, Gracie Ann Turner Easter; son, Troy Easter (Carla); sisters, Jackie Gordan, Gail Dean and Phyllis Easter Mays Grayson (Charles); brother, Mike Easter (Sabra); and grandchildren, Tyler Easter, Tori Shea Easter, Lindsay Easter and Adam Easter.

All services will be private.
