Douglas E. Wyatt

Douglas E. Wyatt, 81, husband of Joyce Lee Nolen Wyatt, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late William and Sadie Shamblin Wyatt. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sluder.

Doug loved hunting, especially Turkey hunting and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was retired from Ingersoll-Rand after more than 30 years of service.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Joyce, he will be missed and remembered by his daughters, Rebecca Hartman Ellis and her husband Jason, Jeannie Lee Loving and her husband Timothy; grandchildren, Betty Hartman, Heather Lamb (Brock), Gene Hartman (Jessica), Brian “Dougie” Epperly (Jessica), Michael Epperly (Ashley), Cody Loving (Katelyn); great-grandchildren, Amber, Alex, Atlanta, Austin, Becca, Lucas, Elise, Easton, Kacie, Jace, and Kinley.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jason Ellis officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.
