Dreama Kathleen Henderson Freeman

December 11, 1952 - March 31, 2025

Dreama Henderson Freeman, 72, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025. Born on December 11, 1952, to the late Woodrow Wilson Henderson, Sr. and Mildred Louise Sawyers Henderson, she is also predeceased by her grandparents, Herbert M. and Osceola Ferguson Henderson and Troy and Mamie Wall Sawyers, and her sister, Brenda Henderson Martin Harris.

Dreama was raised in the Glenvar area of Roanoke County and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon achieving her GED, she enrolled in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital’s nursing program and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was fascinated with genealogy and put together volumes of family history throughout her life. Dreama saw great value in things gone by and held a vast collection of beautiful antiques and collectable keepsakes spanning generations. In addition to antiquing and thrifting, she was a gifted artist who enjoyed turning blank canvases into beautiful paintings.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Dawn Farrell; son, Matthew Elliott Cox and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Hannah Farrell, Thomas Farrell, Elliott Cox and his wife, Jasmine, Alex Cox and his wife, Grace, and Chacey Cox; great granddaughter, Aria Cox; siblings, Bonnie Chaszar, Becky Carter, Woody Henderson and his wife, Linda, Susie Johnson and Sheldon Henderson and his wife, Vicki, as well as a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6311 Wayburn Drive, Salem, with Bishop Jim Gerken officiating. The family will welcome friends beginning at 9:00 a.m.
