Earl Stephen Goad

Earl Stephen Goad, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on April 1, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on March 25, 1947, to the late Dennie E. and Annie Mae Grubbs Goad.

Steve retired from Bell Atlantic after 30 years of service. He was a wise, humble and kind man with a witty sense of humor who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, baseball and Bluegrass music. His Gibson Dove was his most cherished possession.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patrica St.Clair Goad; daughters, Tracey Goad, Dawn (Phil) Lyles and Kimberly (Chris) Kelley; grandchildren, Kayla Perdue, James Goad, Ryan and Olivia Lyles, Kaden Jennings, Wyatt Kelley and five great-grandchildren; brother Arthur (Carol) Goad; sisters Doris Walker and Joyce Ann Goldston.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: William, David, Warren, Wayne and Roger Goad; sisters Mary Wyrick and Lola Hopcroft.

The graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on April 4, 2026 at Mount Union Cemetery located at 5155 Blacksburg Rd, Troutville, VA 24175. Arrangements made by Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, VA 24083.
