Earnest Carson Lee
Earnest Carson Lee, 88, of Madison Heights, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Born on November 14, 1936, in Amherst County, VA, he was the son of the late Leonard Henry Lee and Alcora Lee.
Earnest was preceded in death by his wife, Holmes Winston Mayberry Lee; his brother, Leonard Lee Jr.; and his son-in-law, Leon Taylor.
Earnest spent his career as a dedicated boiler operator at Rock Tenn. Growing up on a farm instilled in him a lifelong love of the outdoors. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, proudly displaying his prized 8-point buck. His green thumb and passion for gardening brought him joy throughout his life.
Known for his inventive spirit and problem-solving skills, Earnest was a self-made, independent man who valued hard work and staying busy. Despite his quiet demeanor, he had a deep love for his family and a kind heart. He was a loving father and a good man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his three devoted daughters, Donna Taylor, Kim Wooldridge (George), and Lisa Lee; four cherished grandchildren, Wayne White (Annette), Angelia Pannell (Jimmie), Keith Wooldridge (Ann), and Eric Wooldridge (Hannah); seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; his three siblings, Lloyd Lee (Doris), Ray Lee (Hazel), and Winston Lee (Judy); and his wife, Andrea Lee.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joe Elmore officiating. Burial will take place afterward in the Mausoleum Chapel at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
