Earnestine "Teeny" Wells Hagwood

Earnestine “Teeny” Wells Hagwood, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1945, to the late Jessie Wells and Irene Manns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hagwood; her son, Jessie Wells; and her sisters, Evelyn Vaughn, Martha Vaughn, and Elizabeth Wells.

Teeny enjoyed doing word search puzzles, traveling especially going on cruises and watching her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless, as well as Westerns. She also loved to dance and found great joy in spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: two daughters, Tamika Williamson (Reggie) and Elizabeth Solomon (Woodrow); her son, Christopher Wells; her two brothers, Cederic Wells and Floyd Wells; her two sisters, Jenny Wimbush and Mildred Calloway; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Elder Bob Manns officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
