Eddie Ray Law

Eddie Ray Law, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, in Pearisburg, VA. Born on October 23, 1942, in of West Virginia, Eddie's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his community. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and service that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eddie was a devoted husband to his wife, Sara Elizabeth Ogle Law, and a loving father to his children, Jeff Scott, Roger Scott (married to Dot), and Chris Scott (married to Ginger), and his daughter, Regina Delph (married to Vernon). His role as a grandfather to Steven Scott, Carie-Beth Rice (married to Kenny), and Rebecca Scott brought him immeasurable joy. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but the memories they created together will continue to bring comfort and smiles to their faces.

He is survived by his sister, Susie Beckner (married to Allen), who will fondly remember her brother for his kindness and the special times they shared. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Bernice Blankenship Law, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that he carried throughout his life.

Eddie was a dedicated employee at Celanese, where he worked in production for over 40 years. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside him. He was not only a valued team member but also a mentor to many, sharing his knowledge and experience generously.

Beyond his professional life, Eddie was a pillar in the Pearisburg community, particularly through his 56 years of service with the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department. His unwavering dedication to helping others in their times of need exemplified his selfless nature and his belief in the importance of community service.

Eddie's passions extended into his personal life, where he found great pleasure in reading Western books. He often could be found with a book in hand, lost in the tales of cowboys and the old West. His love for the outdoors was reflected in his enthusiasm for camping. Many family stories and cherished moments were born from the adventures they had while exploring the great outdoors together.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Virginia with Pastor Gary Poff officiating.
