Edgar Junior Rigney

Mr. Edgar Junior Rigney, age 80 of Danville, VA, passed away on May 16, 2025. Mr. Rigney was born on July 15, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, VA to Roxie Rigney Mayhew. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Gravley Rigney, stepfather, Edward Mayhew, son, Earl J. Rigney, sisters, Geraldine Goins, Frances Rigney, brothers, Raleigh Rigney and Cecil Rigney. He was a life long resident of Pittsylvania County. He was retired from Heath’s Sawmill and a farmer. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Rigney is survived by his son, Reverend John R. Rigney and wife, June, one sister, Tressie Pruitt, two brothers, Lynwood Rigney and Jerry Rigney.A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, VA.A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with Reverend John R Rigney officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA.At other times the family will be at the residence of his son, Reverend John R.
