Edgar Vaughn

March 10, 1947 - February 17, 2024

Edgar Homer “Eddie” Vaughn, age 76, of Eagle Rock, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 17, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born March 10, 1947 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia to the late Kenneth Vaughn and Hilda Wade Vaughn. He was a graduate from White Sulphur High School and married the love of his life, Nancy, on June 11, 1965 and began his career with Westvaco, now Westrock. He started as a mill wright apprentice and retired from the Low Moore Converting Plant in 2009. One of his greatest accomplishments was getting his Bachelor’s degree from Kennedy Western University in 2000. He was proud of his children for getting their education and supported them in all their accomplishments. When he was able, he enjoyed hunting and traveling. Eddie was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years where he was active in counting the money and helping with being an usher. After leaving Immanuel Baptist he transferred his membership to Victory Baptist Church. He was faithful in watching the live stream services when he wasn’t able to attend church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Street and Dinah Johnson; a niece, Debbie Whitt; a nephew, Josh Hampton; and son in law, Benny Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Dean Vaughn; his children, Lisa Anderson (Tony), Scott Vaughn (Jodi), Gina Davis (Mark), Darren Vaughn (Amy); eleven grandchildren, Michelle Vaughn, Kerri Vaughn (Silvio Lopez), Taylor Ford (Clay), Matthew Anderson (KC), Travis Anderson (Cortnie), Elizabeth Persinger (Danny), Forest Vaughn (Makenzie), Mallory Horacek (Saul), Morgan Vaughn, Lee Bush (Makayla), Zach Vaughn (Sara Grace); six great grandchildren, Oliver, Meredith, Holden, Sutton, Daisy and Parker; and a nephew, Freddie Stevens (Sandi).

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00PM in Victory Baptist Church, Clifton Forge with Pastor Brandon Nicely officiating. Internment will take place in Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be Matthew, Travis, Forest, Lee, Zach, Clay, Danny and Saul. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Victory Baptist Church.
