Edith Coleman Puryear

Edith Coleman Puryear, 83, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Edith was born in Amherst County on June 13, 1942 to the late Eunice Lee Coleman. She was raised by her grandmother, the late Lucy Pearl Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Puryear. She is survived by her son, James Campbell (Trish). She is also survived by her daughter, Sharon Tomlin (Randy). She is also survived by her sons, Jerry Campbell (Lisa) and Kevin Mays (Samantha). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of Oronoco Church of the Brethren. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Oronoco Church of the Brethren on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The funeral service will be from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at Oronoco Church of the Brethren with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Arnold Bradley is officiating. Driskill Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
