Edna Arrington Fitzgerald

Edna Mae Arrington Fitzgerald, age 87 of Glade Hill departed her earthly home peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Edna was born on September 26, 1938. She worked many years as an inspector at Burlington Industries, Pluma, Tultex, and retired from Ply-Gem in Rocky Mount, Virginia. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Glade Hill, Virginia.Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Fitzgerald; son, Kenny Dean Fitzgerald; parents, Dock Thomas and Nannie Grace Arrington; grandson, Christopher Fitzgerald; great-grandson, Zane Parks; brothers, Lonzie, Thomas Jr, James Herman, Frank and Fred; sisters, Christine Short, Louvenia Hilbrecht, Natalie Silvercloud; and three infant siblings.Edna is survived by her sons, Roger (Fran) of Roanoke, Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Glen Allen; daughters, Barbara Parks (Ray) of Pulaski, Brenda Mason (Tom Riddle) of Bassett; sister, Nancy M. Dalton (Robert) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Matthew Parks (Heather), David Parks (Melissa), Grace de la Cruz (Luis), Bryle Fitzgerald, John Mason II, Amber Ison (Bill), Caitlin Fitzgerald, Kiley Fitzgerald, Mackenzie Fitzgerald, and Ryan Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Abigail, Christie, Luke, Sofi, Ethan, and Jude; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will be private in the Arrington Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S Main St, Rocky Mount, VA.
