Edna Mae Duncan

Edna Mae Duncan, 79, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Bassett, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at her daughter’s home. She was born in Patrick County on May 28, 1949, the daughter of late Walter Lee Rakes and the late Laura Hall Rakes.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sammy Duncan; brothers, Randolph Rakes, Oscar Rakes, Richard Rakes, and Hubert Rakes; sisters, Marilyn Rakes, Eltrude Shively, Gay Whorley, Mildred Dehart and Judy Hale; son-in-law, Tommie Brammer.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Margie Brammer; grandchildren, Brooke Lipat (Jaime), Zacharie Brammer (Mayah) and Maggie Brammer; great-grandchildren, Lily and Luca Lipat; brothers, Lane Rakes, Cleo Rakes and Orben Rakes; sister, Rena Lou Stone.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett.
