Edward Brown

Edward Lee Brown Sr., age 82, of Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 at his residence.

He was born December 23, 1941 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Joe Brown and Odessa Persinger Brown. He served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War. Eddie worked at Hercules for 13 years before he was an over the road truck driver for 40 years, retiring from Blue Ridge Lumber Company in December of 2022.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Ronnie Brown; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Brown and Betty Charles Sherer; two brothers-in-law, Pete Felty and Bob Ailstock.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Charles Brown; a daughter, Tracey Brown Bocchetta and husband, Neil; a son, Lee Brown, Jr. and wife, Joyce; Grandchildren, Meghan Brown (Daniel), Nick Bocchetta (Natalie), Anthony Bocchetta, Aubrey Brown, and Stella Bochetta; great granddaughter, Rennick Souix Plecker; two brothers, Robert Brown and wife, Betty Jo, Freddy Brown and wife, Diann; five sisters-in-law, Lois Brown, Jenny Charles Felty, Shelby Charles Watson and husband, Junior, Jeanie Charles Persinger and husband, John, Kitty Charles Ailstock; a brother-in-law, David Charles; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 with a visitation from 11:00-12:00 and a service at 12:00 at Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 626 E. Morris Hill Road, Covington with Mr. Anthony Lowry officiating.
