Edward Joseph Ambrose

Edward Joseph Ambrose, 81, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Stanleytown Health & Rehab in Bassett, Virginia. He was born on July 18, 1944, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to the late Joseph Ambrose and Dorothy Marie Ambrose.

Edward honorably served his country in the United States Navy, where he completed a tour in Vietnam. He later retired from the Department of Defense after many years of dedicated service. A proud member of the Honor Guard and AMVets, Edward lived a life defined by patriotism, integrity, and devotion to others.

He was a faithful Catholic, a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. His gentle strength and steadfast love will be remembered by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Carol A. Ambrose; three sons, Joel Isaacson (Susan), Ted Ambrose (Angel), and Lenny Ambrose (Mandy); two daughters, Judith Garbich (Max) and Rachel Zabbia (Todd); eight grandchildren; one sister, Angela Evola; one brother, Vincent Ambrose; along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, it was his wish that donations be made toward the continued care of his beloved widow, Mrs. Carol A. Ambrose, and may be sent to 66 Nola Road, Collinsville, Virginia 24078.
