Edward Marvin Page

November 19, 1945 - July 9, 2025

Edward Marvin Page, Sr. 79, of Ridgeway, Va. passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born in Woodruff, South Carolina to the late Victor Marvin Page and Florence Duke Page.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Page; his sons, Terry Page (Tilisa) and Tony Page (Kathy); grandsons, Devin “Debo” Page (Lindsey), Nicholas “Tater” Page, Hudson Green, Sawyer Page, and Baylon Riddle.

Ed graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a strong supporter of the Gamecocks. After proudly serving his county in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, he began a long career at Dupont. After retiring from Dupont with 35 years of service he went to work for Invista. Ed later began working with Shirley at Ridgeway Signs.

Ed was a very patriotic person who was proud of his country and especially Ridgeway, Va. He served as chairman of the Henry County Republican Party and was Mayor of Ridgway for 24 years.

He loved helping people and did a lot to improve the quality of life for so many. He was a member of the Piedmont Masonic Lodge and the Kazim Shriners and a longtime member and past president of the Ridgeway Jaycees. He was the PTA president for 2 terms at the Ridgeway Elementary School and he started the PTO at Drewry Mason Middle School.

He was a strong advocate for many improvements in the Ridgeway community. He played a major role in securing funding for the Ridgeway Rescue Squad and a Community Block Grant. Ed and former Congressman Virgil H. Goode, Jr. worked hard to secure funding for construction of the Ridgeway bridge.

The family is very thankful for the special care provided to Ed by Mountain Valley Hospice.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605 or to the Martinsville Henry County SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.
