Edward Peters

December 2, 1935 - March 31, 2023

Mr. Peters was born December 2, 1935 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Samuel David Peters and Lula Blanche Andrews Peters. He was a lifetime member of this community. During his working career, Henry worked taking care of maintenance for Dr. Perry Campbell's Veterinary Clinic, loved cutting firewood and was a school bus driver for Alleghany County school systems. He loved "fishing" and "hunting" with his grandchildren in his spare time. Mr. Peters also enjoyed eating out at local restaurants especially the Hot Dog House. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he truly loved spending time with his family. The wonderful memories of the times he shared with his family leave behind a lasting legacy for them to cherish forever.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, Diann, Mr. Peters is survived by a son, Edward Preston Peters, Jr. and wife Martha Sue of Natural Well; two daughters, Julie Ann Peters Rucker of Natural Well and Deborah Sue Peters Swearengin and husband, Eddie of Warm Springs; five grandchildren, Ashley Vaughan and husband, Jonathan, Brian Rucker and wife, Jessica, Cassie Standford and husband, Michael, Levi Peters and fiancée, Ashley Farmer and Allison Swearengin and boyfriend, Jimmy; three great grandchildren, Carter Rucker, Emory Vaughn and Emersen Rucker; a sister, Maxine Peters Smith of Callaghan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Peters was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Warren "Chuckie" Rucker; four brothers; and four sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
