“Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord.”

A mighty warrior in the Kingdom of God, a vessel of unwavering faith, and a matriarch both in the natural and spiritual, Elder Bonetha Daniel-King transitioned peacefully from labor to reward, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and anointing that will resound through generations.

Born on December 7, 1950, in Axton, Virginia, to the late Lewis Henry Giles and Bessie Martin Giles, Bonetha was destined to be set apart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Minister Roy King; as well as siblings: William, Hurtis, Cleveland, Lewis Jr., and Mattie Bell, adopted brother Bishop Albert L. Hairston, and aunts Nancy Giles-Fountain, Corine Giles-Brim, and Betty Lampkins.

At the tender age of seven, she was baptized at Only Way Church of Christ by her beloved uncle, the late Bishop William H. Giles a divine moment that would mark the beginning of her remarkable journey in ministry and life.

Her early education began at Irisburg Elementary School and continued at George Washington Carver High School, where she graduated with diligence and grace. While her academic pursuits were noteworthy, it was her spiritual education that would define her life's calling.

Bonetha answered the call to ministry early, serving faithfully as a Missionary at Smyrna Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith under Bishop Preston Graves Sr.. Her calling expanded, and she was later licensed as a Minister and Evangelist by the late Bishop Carl Angle. With great honor, she was ordained as an Elder through the United Cornerstone Churches of Christ, Intl. in Thomasville, North Carolina, under the direction of Founder & Chief Apostle James H. Carter.

Her ministry was marked by fire, wisdom, and compassion. She pastored faithfully at Citadel of Praise and Rivers of Living Water Ministries under United Cornerstone Churches International (UCCI), where she also served with distinction as the National Virginia State Mother. Elder King was a foundational voice in regional prayer bands across the Martinsville area, lifting up the name of Jesus and interceding on behalf of the saints.

Outside the pulpit, Elder King served her community through years of dedicated work with the Martinsville Police Department and the Martinsville School District, where her integrity and care made a lasting impact

She leaves to cherish her memory, the father of her children, Deacon Otis Daniel, she nurtured and raised mighty vessels in the Kingdom, Apostle Marcus B. Daniel of Renton, WA, Apostle Micah B. Daniel, 2nd Vice Presider of U.C.C.I. of Renton, WA, and Evangelist Malinda B. Daniel-Davison (Dario) of Mount Vernon, New York. She loved on many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also lovingly embraced her adopted son, Lyrick Daniel and a sister Doris Dillard (Elder Robert) of Axton, Virginia.

Elder Bonetha Daniel-King was not only a woman of the cloth; she was a woman of the cross bearing it with dignity, declaring it with power, and living it with authenticity. Her mantle was heavy, but she carried it with grace. Her voice echoed truth, her prayers moved heaven, and her presence brought peace.
