Elizabeth Ann Gillispie

Elizabeth Ann Gillispie, of Elliston, born on October 7th, 1951, to the late Archie T. Hale and Edna G. Hale, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8th, 2024, at the age of 72.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Leonard G. Hale; her nephew Michael C. Blankenship; her niece Melissa A. Francisco; and her sister Dottie F. Hale.

She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Gillispie; her children: Cherie Maxfield (Gary) and Greg Mills (Tracy); her grandchildren: Bethony McNew (Josh), Briannah Mills, Brooke Jones (Mark), Haley Maxfield (Tori), Joshua Mills (Hannah), Logan Maxfield, Novalee Lilly, and Summer Lilly; her great-grandchildren: Aiden Grammer, Jesse Mills, Levi Jones, Memphis Mills, Raelyn Cassell, Riley Brammer, and Ryan Durham; her sister Brenda Foutz (Edward); her brothers: Gary Hale, Glen Hale (Carolyn), Mike Hale (Connie), and Noah Hale; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Elizabeth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence brought joy and comfort to those around her, and she will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 E Main Street, Salem, VA 24153, on Saturday, July 20th at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. The family kindly invites you to bring flowers to the service.
