Elizabeth Ann Roberts

Elizabeth Ann Roberts, 82, of Martinsville, Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025,at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. She was born September 16, 1942, in Tazelwell County, Virginia, to the late Fred Horton and Thelma Elizabeth Jewell Horton.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Roberts; her daughter, Martha Handy; and granddaughter, Mattie Woodard.

She was of the Christian faith and attended Martinsville Church of Truth. Ann was a saintly woman who loved her family and the Lord. She enjoyed quilting, reading, cooking, and going to church. She was a bookkeeper at her families business for many years.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Jewel Lawson (Lonnie); sons, Mickey Roberts (Sandra), David Roberts (Shelly), Paul Roberts (Linora), Freddie Roberts (Tina); sisters, Nila Stilwell, Becky Childress; brother, Tommy Horton; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Martinsville Church of Truth, 1376 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia, with Pastor Bill Preskitt and Pastor Alton Bartee officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Roberts Family Cemetery on Skyview Trail, Martinsville, Virginia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Wright Funeral Service from 6:00-8:00 PM.
