Elizabeth "Ellen" Dezarn Lambeth

Elizabeth “Ellen” DeZarn Lambeth, on October 5, 1940, Ellen was born and God smiled; on Friday, May 23, 2025, as he received her into his kingdom, she smiled.

Ellen was born in Duffield, Virginia to the late Earnest Benny DeZarn and Dorothy Flanary DeZarn.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia “Pat” D. Bowles and Ivalea “Sissy” D. Secrest, both of Martinsville, Virginia; her son-in-law, Lee F. Montgomery, of Keeling, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lambeth, of Ridgeway, Virginia; brother-in-law, and best friend, Billy L. Secrest, Sr., of Martinsville, Virginia.

Ellen was a graduate of Martinsville High School and a DuPont retiree. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son Joseph “Joey” W. Lambeth, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Ridgeway, Virginia; and her daughter, Kathryn “Kat” Lambeth Montgomery, of Keeling, Virginia.

In addition to her son and daughter, she is survived by three grandsons to whom she gave her heart: Bryan Taylor, of Axton , Virginia; Taylor and Tristan Montgomery, of Keeling, Virginia.

She is also survived by her sister Penny D. Campbell, of Collinsville, Virginia; and her former husband, Joseph W. Lambeth, Sr., of Ridgeway, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers or contributions, Ellen requests that you do an Act of Kindness to someone in need.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Kathryn.

Ellen’s family will have a Memorial Celebration of her Life at a later date.
