Elizabeth Fern Hollish

Elizabeth Layne Hollish departed this life on February 18, 2025 to join her husband Charles, who preceded her in death on December 1, 2024.

Elizabeth and her soulmate met in Cleveland, Ohio. Charles was on vacation from work at a missile tracking range and Elizabeth was a systems analyst with IBM. Knowing of a future together, Charles quit his job to attend college on the GI bill. Once engaged, she followed him to Ft.Wayne, Indiana, where she became an IT Manager.

Elizabeth and Charles married, and had their first son, Carl Delson, while Charles was still attending college. Shortly before Charles's graduation, Douglas was born.

The pair loved traveling, were married for 60 1/2 years, and Elizabeth loved her job with Pendleton.

Elizabeth was the last of six children born to Anna Elizabeth Lynn Layne and Berry McGee Layne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all four brothers and one sister, her daughter-in-law Debbie Hollish, and great-grandson Matthias Job Roberts.

Elizabeth is survived by sons; Carl Delson and Douglas (Bree), grandchildren; Catherine (Chris), Cindy (John), and Chris (Sara), great-grandchildren; Ember, Samuel, and Scarlet Roberts, Carson and Asher Wiley, and Lyla and Caleb Hollish, plus bonus grandchildren; Bryce and Brooke Heizer.

Elizabeth received loving care in her final days by Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Good Samaritan Hospice or the charity of your choice.
