Elizabeth Orelia Knewasser

Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson Knewasser, 76, of Roanoke, VA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Johnson Washington and Garrett Johnson, Sr.; husband, Kim Knewasser; sisters, Shirley Terry and Lucille Johnson; brothers, James Glover, Billy Glover, Davie Johnson, Freddie Johnson; and her son, David “Horn” Johnson.Those left to carry her memory are her son, Kenneth Johnson, and daughter, Daisy (Leo) Lopez. Her grandchildren, Shane Young, Shayla Mello, Marcus Johnson, Jordan Johnson, and Bryce Lopez, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ka’Marion, Wyatt, Azyla, Marleigh, Juelz, and De’imani who fill her heart with joy. Liz’s sisters, Susie (Al) Berkley, Daisy (Lewis) Rose, and Linda Ellis; her brothers, Garrett (Beverly) Johnson, Michael (Ruby) Johnson, Clint (Lelia) Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Jamie (Carrie) Washington. Sister-in-law, Mary Johnson. Her companion, Heyward Fisher, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who adore her and will forever cherish her presence in their lives.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 2 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, with Elder Donald Williams officiating.
