Ellin Louise Walker Cobler

Ellin Louise Walker Cobler, 97, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was born to the late Barnie Blaine Walker and Macie Elizabeth Tuttle Walker. In addition to her parents Ellin was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Cobler, Sr.; daughter, Barbara Cobler Wilson; grandchild, Stacy Marie Cobler; great-grandchild, Henry Valentine Wilson; sisters, Marie Hodges, Jeanette Adams, and Margie Wright; and brother, W.C. Walker.

She retired from DuPont after 31 years of service. Ellin was inducted into the USBC Virginia State Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2019. Papa (Robert) and Mimi (Ellin) were married 65 ½ years.

Ellin is survived by her son, John “Bobby” Robert Cobler, Jr. (Laura); grandchildren, Robert Wilson (Shannon), Jessica Lovell (Jim), John Wilson (Michelle), and James Robert Cobler; son-in-law, Bob Wilson (Susan); great-grandchildren, Robert Gordon Tatum, Taylor Alexis Lovell, Maci Nicole Lovell, John Howard Wilson, Wendy Jane Wilson, James Gordon Wilson, Abigail Grace Wilson, Benjamin Thomas Wilson, and Elizabeth Jean Wilson; sisters, Betty Whisnant (Zeke) and Sue Mason; brother, James Walker (Jane); and a host of other loved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Collinsville Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Cheek will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Hermon Church of the Brethren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist of Collinsville, 3339 Virginia Ave., Collinsville, VA 24078. The family would like to extend their gratitude toward King’s Grant staff and Mountain Valley Hospice for their love, support, and care of Ms. Cobler.
